How to Earn Xtreme Philatelist Badges

Xtreme Philately, born from the Exploring Stamps YouTube channel, is a travel-based stamp collecting activity where a real postage stamp is photographed with the real-world location, subject, setting or event that it depicts or is clearly connected to .

For piXPost, Xtreme Philatelist badges focus on the map-based adventure side of Xtreme Philately. Your pin should show a real stamp matched with a real place, subject, exhibit, landmark, object, or setting found out in the world.

To earn these badges, your pins must be published on the public piXPost map. Pins that do not qualify for the public map, or pins marked private, will still appear on your profile and personal map but will not count toward Xtreme Philatelist badges.

To claim badges:

🔹 Your pin must include a clear photo of a real postage stamp matched with its real-world location, subject, setting, event or other clearly connected to a real world counterpart.

🔹 Your pin type must be selected as Stamp, or multi-selected with Stamp included.

🔹 The match should be pinned out in the world, not staged just for the photo at your home or another unrelated location.

🔹 Please include extra photos or short clip showing where you found this in the wild. (see photo tips below)

🔹 The location, extra photos, video, title, or caption should clearly show why the stamp belongs there.

🔹 The real-world match may be a place, landmark, animal, plant, object, artwork, fossil, model, exhibit, display, event, ect. as long as it is clearly connected to the stamp.

🔹 Commemorative stamps count when the real world match is a clear connection. If the connection is not obvious, please explain it in your caption.

Does Not Count :

❌ Stamps photographed at home, in an album, on a desk, or with a matching object brought to an unrelated location do not count.

❌ A stamp photographed with a matching object brought to an unrelated location staged just for the photo does not count.

❌ A close up photo of only the stamp and its subject in frame with no other background or photos clearly showing its location will not be counted.

Finding vs. Farming Matches

Xtreme Philately is about discovering stamp matches while exploring the world.

Deliberately using a single collection, album, archive, exhibit, dealer stock, or similar source to systematically generate a large number of matches for badges or rankings may not qualify, even when the individual stamp images technically match.

The goal is to find interesting stamp connections through real-world exploration, rather than repeatedly using one source simply to accumulate pins and badges.

🔹 A second photo showing the real-world match clearly without the stamp.

🔹 A short “big reveal” video, starting with the stamp in front of the match, then moving the stamp away to reveal the real-world subject behind it.

🔹 A title or caption explaining the connection, especially if the location is not obvious.
