How to Earn Xtreme Deltiology Badges

Deltiology is the study and collecting of postcards. Xtreme Deltiology takes it one step further by photographing a real postcard with the real-world location, subject, or setting shown on the card.

For piXPost, Xtreme Deltiology badges focus on the map based adventure side of postcard collecting. Your pin should show a real postcard matched with a real place, subject, exhibit, landmark, object, or setting found out in the world.

To earn these badges, your pins must be published on the public piXPost map. Pins that do not qualify for the public map, or pins marked private, will still appear on your profile and personal map but will not count toward Xtreme Deltiology badges.

To Claim badges:

🔹 Your pin must include a clear photo of a postcard matched with its real-world location, subject, or setting.

🔹 Your pin type must be selected as Postcard, or multi-selected with Postcard included.

🔹 The match should be found out in the world, not staged just for the photo at your home or another unrelated location.

🔹 The postcard image itself must visually connect to the real-world location, subject, landmark, object, setting, or event shown in your pin.

🔹 The location, extra photos, video, title, or caption should clearly show why the postcard belongs there.

🔹 The real world match may be a place, landmark, animal, plant, object, artwork, exhibit, display, or event, as long as it is clearly connected to the postcard.

🔹 Large-letter “Greetings from” postcards, multi-view postcards, map postcards, illustrated postcards, meetup cards, and event postcards may count if the matching location, landmark, subject, or detail on the card is clear.

If the match is small, hidden in the design, or not obvious, please add a close-up photo and explain the connection in your title or caption.

Does Not Count :

❌ Postcards photographed at home, on a desk do not count

❌ Postcards photographed with a postbox only as proof of mailing do not count toward Xtreme Deltiology and the postcard pin type.

They may count toward a Postbox badge if the postbox meets the Postbox rules.

❌ A postcard photographed at a tourist stand or shop display for sale do not count.

❌ A postcard photographed with an object brought to an unrelated location just to match the card does not count.

❌ A generic location postcard photographed somewhere only because it says the city, state, or country name may not count unless the card clearly shows a matching real-world location, subject, or setting.

A great Xtreme Deltiology pin makes the connection easy to understand.

When possible, try adding:

🔹 A photo of the postcard in focus with the real world match in the background.

🔹 A second photo showing the real world match clearly without the postcard.

🔹 A close-up of the matching detail on the postcard, especially for large-letter, multi-view, illustrated, meetup, or event cards.

🔹 A short “big reveal” video, starting with the postcard in front of the match, then moving the postcard away to reveal the real world subject behind it.

🔹 A title or caption explaining the connection, especially if the location is not obvious.

These extra details are not required for every pin, but they help the piXPost team confirm that your pin qualifies and make your pin more fun for everyone to enjoy.
